My name is Drew Blanton. I'm a member of New Mexico's AmeriCorps. I'm a natural because I grew up helping people. The story of how that came to be is older than AmeriCorps.
Come back in time with me. The year is 1973. I'm a 19-month-old boy. I'm in the garage at my house in Georgia with my dad. I'm playing while he's working. My mom went out to buy groceries. When she came home, suddenly I ran out to greet her. Little did any of us know it would be the last time I'd ever run. I fell, and of course my mom didn't know she ran over me. She thought she ran over the dog, and when she learned the truth she screamed like a wild animal.
No Need for Racism
I hope you can see
Just how beautiful are we.
No need for racism;
That's such a fakism!
Red, yellow, brown, black, and white -
Everybody's all right.
